5 Nissan Technologies to Know About

Nissan continues to be at the forefront of technology, implementing the latest in its vehicles to improve entertainment, functionality, durability, and safety. Check out a few of the top Nissan technologies you should know about: more 1. Intelligent Cruise Control While cruise control has been around for many years, Nissan has taken this feature to the next level with intelligent cruise control. It works similarly to regular cruise control but with the addition of the ability to set your preferred distance. This feature can easily be turned on and off with the cruise control button. Set the speed as low as 20 mph or as high as 90 mph, as well as the distance you prefer between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you. 2. Driver Attention Alert Fatigued driving is responsible for many collisions each year. Nissan hopes to minimize this number with the driver attention alert feature. This feature is able to identify when a driver is drowsy and alert them to take action. It actively monitors driving habits, including steering and gas use. By compiling information and better understanding the driving routines of a specific driver, it can identify when the driver is acting differently and potentially losing attention. This feature will chime in, suggesting that you take a break. This system resets each time the engine is turned off. 3. Automatic Emergency Braking Noticing the vehicle in front of you hitting their brakes even a second too late can make it difficult to respond in time. With automatic emergency braking equipped, your vehicle monitors the vehicles in front of you. It provides you with both audio and visual warnings when a vehicle, or person, gets too close. If it detects that a collision is imminent, it begins to engage the brakes, reducing your speed and impact. 4. Around View Monitor The around view monitor is one of the most impressive safety features that Nissan offers. This feature actively monitors the area surrounding your vehicle for any potential collisions. It also features a moving object detection feature that uses four small exterior cameras to produce a 360-degree view. The camera feed is displayed on the driver infotainment system. Drivers can choose either a split screen with multiple views or a full screen with the ability to zoom in. 5. The Future of Nissan Nissan continues to do research and test new technologies. Just a few things to look forward to include the Connect Telematics Systems (CTS), which will enable Nissan Leaf drivers to remotely control their vehicle. The intelligent parking chair is a current project at Nissan. By programming an office chair to move, and ultimately, park, Nissan is studying how to use these technologies to design an automatic parking vehicle. Nissan is also working on new types of vehicle technology, including micro-mobility and a 100% electric-powered vehicle that is ultra-compact and designed for seniors or those who don't spend a lot of time on the road. If technology is important to you when choosing a vehicle, then you will definitely want to check out Nissan vehicles. driving on icy road

Winter Weather Driving Tips To Help Keep You Safe

Snowfall can be refreshing and beautiful, as long as you are viewing from the warmth of your home. But, snow can also pose a danger to drivers on the road. Taking certain precautions can help you stay safe on the road this winter. These tips will help you when driving in winter conditions in La Crosse, Wisconsin. more Check the Weather Before Leaving Running late can lead you to skip important winter preventive duties, like removing the ice from your windshield or checking your tires. Also, you are more likely to speed if you're running late. Check the weather a few hours before leaving or at least the night before. That way, you know if you need to leave early and can give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination. If the weather is very bad, it might be better to just stay home. Some winter roads should be avoided if they have not yet been cleared or if the rain has recently turned to ice. Schedule a Preventive Maintenance Appointment Taking good care of your vehicle year round is important, but skipping your preventive maintenance during the winter months can be even more dangerous. Before winter weather hits, schedule a maintenance appointment with your dealership. During this appointment, your technician will inspect your tires, check your fluid levels, and recommend any other repairs. In addition to ensuring that your vehicle is ready for winter driving, some preventive maintenance can also reduce your chances of breaking down and being stranded in the cold weather. Pack an Emergency Kit If you do end up stranded on the side of the road, you will likely find an emergency kit to be useful. Include items like a first aid kit, an extra phone battery, water bottles, and even an extra set of clothing. In addition to having an emergency kit, it can also be helpful to have your emergency documents in an easy-to-locate place. This includes your insurance information and a copy of your roadside assistance card if you have one. Avoid Distractions Distractions can be dangerous regardless of the road conditions, but distractions in addition to winter driving can be especially risky. If the roads are bad, make sure you take extra precautions to avoid distracted driving. If your vehicle is equipped with hands-free features, be sure to take advantage of them. Sync your phone to the driver infotainment system before leaving the driveway. If you don't have a hands-free system, then consider putting your phone in a location that won't tempt you to answer phone calls or text messages. It can also be helpful to teach children the importance of having no distractions, and avoid looking or reaching into the backseat. Make sure you have everything you need in front of you before leaving your home. Winter driving can be dangerous, especially following a snowstorm. Taking certain steps to avoid the most common risks, like checking the weather before leaving and scheduling a preventive maintenance appointment before winter arrives, can help you practice safer winter driving. It is also a good idea to plan for emergencies. Image by Hans Braxmeier from Pixabay | CC BY 0

roadside emergency

Be Ready for Anything With Your Roadside Emergency Kit

Winter is quickly approaching and that means crazy Wisconsin weather. Snow and ice can turn even a short trip to the store disastrous if you aren't prepared. With items to keep you warm, help you get your car back on the road, and much more, a roadside kit has the potential to be lifesaving. Even a kit for warm weather months should be packed and kept in your vehicle. If adequately prepared, you can be ready for anything with your roadside emergency kit. more First-Aid Kit No. 1 on your list should be a properly stocked first-aid kit. It should be complete with bandages, gauze, tape, pain relievers such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, and latex gloves. You can also keep scissors, tweezers, instant cold compresses, and ointments such as a triple antibiotic ointment and hydrocortisone. These will be useful for any minor scrapes. Swapping out supplies when they expire will ensure that everything works if you need to use it. Breakdown Equipment It would be best if you also kept your vehicle stashed with supplies you may need in case of a breakdown, dead battery, or flat tire. Some things you should include would be heavy-duty jumper cables in case you find yourself with a dead battery. If possible, you could even have a battery charger if this happens on a road that isn't commonly traveled. You should also include a fuse kit, a tow strap, and a tire iron to remove a flat tire. Make sure you have a properly inflated spare tire in case you should need to change yours. Other ideas for you to include are some extra motor oil, windshield washer fluid, and windshield wipers. Comfort Items As we all know, winters here in Wisconsin can get cold quickly. It's a good idea to keep some comfort items in your car if you have to wait for roadside assistance. You can keep one or two blankets inside, hand warmers, and some gloves and hats. You can also add items such as lip balm, feminine hygiene products, and extra prescription glasses or contact lenses. In the summer, you could pack sunscreen, bug spray, and possibly a poncho to use if you end up caught in the rain. Keeping a small stash of some food items can help keep the amount of stress during a breakdown at bay. You should also keep some extra water or some rehydration drinks, a minimum of two per person, and high-protein snacks such as beef jerky, nuts, or granola bars. Bonus Items There are a few other items that you can pack in your roadside emergency kit that aren't necessities but may help make the experience a little easier. Keep a backpack inside in case you need to pack some supplies up. Other ideas include toilet paper, wet wipes, and a toothbrush. Road flares can help alert people of your location. Finally, Fix-A-Flat is a short term solution to a flat tire you could also include. We hope these suggestions for what to keep in your roadside emergency kit help you decide how to pack yours. You can also get blacked-out trim, badging, and even blacked-out exhaust tips. Available black 19-inch wheels complete the head-turning look. Not every model year brings with it such a captivating, bold design, and we're proud we're able to offer this special edition. Luxurious Interior Where the special edition impresses is the interior. Enjoy features that the Platinum delivers, such as adjustable ambient lighting, heated and cooled front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Also included are rear-heated seats so your back seat passengers can stay warm and cozy on chilly nights. For the 40th Anniversary Edition, you also get “40th Anniversary” embossed seating, dark red accent stitching on the doors and dash, and dark chrome trim. There's also beautiful deep red leather seating with black accenting, and the speedometer and tachometer flashback to previous models with a bright silver-white face. Luxury has never been more refined in a Maxima. Powerful Engine What would the Maxima be without its sports-inspired engine? The 2021 model year will bring with it a powerful, naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers up to 300 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque. In a recent test, the Maxima ran a zero to 60 in only six seconds. This amount of power should be enough to satisfy any thrill-chasing driver in the market for their newest car. Technology We anticipate much of the technology inside the 2021 Maxima to remain the same as the 2020 Platinum model. Expect features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth hands-free connectivity. Features such as hands-free text messaging will help make driving more comfortable. A premium Bose audio system and a large 8-inch touch screen will also be included, if not upgraded, for an even more immersive, luxurious driving experience. More details about pricing, available trim levels, and a release date should be available soon.
