Lake Onalaska Lake Onalaska is a reservoir located between Wisconsin and Minnesota on the Black and Mississippi Rivers. It measures 4 miles in width, making it the widest point on the Mississippi River. This lake is also about 10 miles from La Crosse, making it a popular place to fish. The maximum depth of Lake Onalaska is 40 feet, while the average depth is around 6 feet. It's accessible via a boat ramp, or you can fish from the banks. Neshonoc Lake Neshonoc Lake provides access to several fish species, including panfish, catfish, northern pike, and largemouth bass. It is 606 acres in size and has a maximum depth of 11 feet. Features include a beach and two boat ramps that provide access to the water. According to some previous anglers, the water clarity is a bit clouded, so be sure to bring brightly colored lures that can attract the fish.
