2020 Nissan Maxima

The 2020 Nissan Maxima is a sedan that comes in five primary trim levels: S, SV, SL, SR, and Platinum. At the base trim level, you get 18-inch alloy wheels. When you opt for the sportier SR model, you get upgraded to 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels, and the luxury-focused Platinum trim is fitted with 19-inch alloy wheels. Every trim level gets LED taillights and intelligent automatic headlights. Among the many upgrades that come with the mid-level SL model, you get a panoramic sunroof.

Regardless of the trim level, every 2020 Nissan Maxima is powered by a 3.5-liter 24-valve V-6 engine with 300 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque. This engine pairs with a continuously variable transmission, which makes for a smooth and efficient ride.

The 2020 Maxima's powerful engine is still incredibly efficient. With 30 mpg on the highway and 20 in the city, you get all of the speed with a lower impact on your wallet and the environment. The Maxima features front-wheel drive and adjustable driving modes on all models. When you opt for the SR, you get sporty upgrades like paddle shifters and a sport-tuned suspension.

The Maxima's spacious cabin provides enough seating for up to five passengers. Even with the base trim level, you get a long list of standard features, like satellite radio, an eight-speaker audio system, an 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and power-adjustable front seats. The SV gets the bonus of a navigation system, leather upholstery, and heated front seats, and the SL comes with an active noise-canceling cabin and a Bose sound system. Even the performance-based SR comes with luxury features like simulated-suede seat inserts and ventilated front seats, but the true luxurious option is the top-trim Platinum. The Platinum keeps the ventilated front seats from the SR and adds an upgraded interior trim, leather upholstery, and memory settings to store the driver's preferences.

The Maxima is as safe as it is sporty, which is made evident by the standard safety systems that come on every trim level, including automatic rear braking, automatic high beams, lane departure warnings, rear cross-traffic alerts, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera. With the SV, you get adaptive cruise control added to this already long list of safety features, and the SR adds a surround-view parking camera.
